We spent a great weekend at a traditional Japanese inn with beautiful gardens and hot springs. The rooms were clean and well-maintained, and the breakfast included fresh Japanese dishes and a buffet with plenty of options. The onsen was a highlight, with indoor and outdoor pools and lovely toiletries provided. Plus, the hotel offered a shuttle service to and from the train station, making it easy to get around.
While the hotel offered a serene atmosphere, the lack of English skills among staff made communication a bit challenging. , there were no nearby ATMs accepting foreign cards, which added a bit of stress when trying to pay for our stay.

We stayed in a beautiful Japanese, style room with an authentic feeling, including spacious multi, level areas. the staff was welcoming and helpful, despite limited English. the location was peaceful, yet with several walking opportunities along the stream/river. Breakfast was sumptuous with delicious Japanese food. There was a warm onsen with a sauna and well, maintained facilities.
The garden was smaller than shown in the photos.

It was great to have both indoor and outdoor pools to enjoy. the breakfast was amazing , I loved having a variety of Japanese options to try. the location of the hotel was also ideal, with easy access to public transportation and nearby attractions.
Poor Service & Outdated Rooms Unfortunately, the service we received was subpar. the staff seemed uninterested in helping us and it took a long time to check, in.

I recently stayed at a luxurious 4-star hotel in the Tsuruoka area, and I must say, it was an absolute delight. The location was perfect for my visit to Mt., allowing me to easily explore the stunning surroundings. The service at this hotel was top-notch, with friendly and helpful staff who went above and beyond to ensure my comfort. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm hospitality and made to feel like a VIP. The room itself was spacious and beautifully appointed, with all the amenities I could need. The onsen facilities were truly a highlight, offering relaxation and tranquility after a day of exploring.
There is absolutely no reason not to recommend this hotel to all. The experience I had here was exceptional and exceeded all my expectations.

We had an amazing stay at this hotel in a peaceful area. The staff was attentive and professional, providing us with a free shuttle service from the station. The hotel facilities were clean and well-maintained, including a sumptuous breakfast served with grace. We enjoyed the warm onsen, surrounded by lush greenery and a moat with small orange fish.
Nothing everything was great.
